Genevieve Spielberg, President

Genevieve Spielberg formed Genevieve Spielberg Inc. (GSI) in 1995 to provide today’s artists the personal attention and guidance they need to fulfill their distinct personal goals. Ms. Spielberg brings more than two decades of experience in music management to GSI, working with such noted artists as Isaac Stern, Gil Shaham, Roberta Peters, Radu Lupu and the Cleveland String Quartet.

Prior to founding GSI, Ms. Spielberg served as Associate Manager at ICM Artists, Ltd., an established leader in the management of the world’s most distinguished artists and attractions. At ICM, she negotiated repertoire, organized logistical planning and assisted in the management of 40 internationally acclaimed artists. Her focused efforts contributed to successful tours for artists such as Claudio Arrau, Andres Segovia, Itzhak Perlman and the Tokyo String Quartet. Ms. Spielberg also worked in the Sales and Publicity Departments at ICM.

Ms. Spielberg has also worked for the Syracuse Symphony and the Aspen Music Festival in management and artist relations roles.

Known for her insight into the ever changing business of music, Ms. Spielberg has been a guest lecturer on the Classical Music Business for NAPAMA, at The Juilliard School, Syracuse University, William Patterson College and a guest panelist for the New Jersey Youth Symphony.

Ms. Spielberg is a member of many professional and philanthropic organizations including the American Symphony Orchestra League, Chamber Music America and the National Flute Association. She serves on the board of the Summit Junior Fortnightly Club and is an active volunteer for the Susan G. Koman Foundation for Breast Cancer.

Ms. Spielberg is a graduate of Syracuse University, where she received a Bachelor of Music Industry degree with Performance Honors and a concentration in Marketing/Management. She also completed the American Symphony Orchestra Management Seminar of the American Symphony Orchestra League in Washington, D.C.

Ann Osterdale, Executive Vice President

With over 20 years experience in marketing, communications, PR, and nonprofit strategy,  she has created PR campaigns, developed and expanded social media presence, crafted grant applications,  and negotiated recording, publishing, touring and other contracts for GSi’s roster of artists, conductors, composers, orchestras, music festivals and other related organizations. 

Ann joined GSI after working for 10 years as a securities lawyer in New York City. Trained as a classical flutist, and passionate about the business of music, Ann has sought to combine her interest in the arts, history, business and the law throughout her career and in her pro bono work in the community. She has  provided pro bono legal services to various art organizations through Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, serves as a Commissioner of the Somerset County Cultural and Heritage Commission, and is the President of the Friends of the Kennedy Martin Stelle Farmstead,  a national and state historic register site dating back to the 18th century located in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, which is home to Farmstead Arts, an award-winning multidisciplinary arts center. She was honored to receive a Volunteer of the Year Award from the Somerset Hills YMCA for her work with the League of Women Voters.

Ann received her undergraduate degree in Business Administration  and her law degree from the  University of Michigan, graduating from both with high honors. Her hobbies include playing flute and piano, and she enjoys performing with a variety of local ensembles.  She lives in Somerville, NJ and Rehoboth Beach, DE with her husband,  Mark.   

Toni Rhatican, Associate

Toni has been a member of the GSI team for over 15 years. She has developed valued relationships with media contacts and presenters, maintains media lists, artists profiles, and cherishes the professional, yet warm relationships with the world-class artists on the roster. Among her varied responsibilities Toni organizes proposals for client media and performance opportunities, plans and executes artists’ performances and travel. In addition to creating and distributing press releases she, coordinates interviews and reviews in conjunction with artist performances, recordings and career highlights, and is responsible for all engagement contracting for the office.

With over 25 years experience as marketing specialist, and project and program management with a major telecommunication corporation, Toni successfully created, directed and implemented customer retention programs, in addition to writing and distributing PR communications. Toni has enjoyed many roles throughout her career which includes managing both large and small marketing and sales teams across the globe. 

Toni resides with her husband, Jim in Berkeley Heights, NJ.

Julie McCarthy, Associate

Julie McCarthy has been a member of the GSI Artists team for more than 11 years. Throughout her career she has established an expertise in marketing, communications, public relations, and business development. She currently designs and coordinates the electronic campaigns and publicity materials for GSI Artists. Previously, Julie was the Publicity Director for the Colonial Symphony, Director of Business Development for Simply Shari’s Gluten Free, and Marketing Director for Aircast Inc. She has worked pro bono as the Publicity Director for Farmstead Arts based in Basking Ridge, NJ, and served as President of the League of Women Voters of Somerset Hills. She has a B.A. in Communications from Bethany College.

Katie Hellings, Associate

The newest member of the GSI team, Katie performs a key role in supporting all functions of both the staff and clients. Her responsibilities include written communications, research and managing media contacts. Katie began her career as an elementary school  Language Arts teacher and literacy coach. She is a PTO volunteer, religious education teacher, teen mom mentor, and Girl Scout Troop leader. Katie loves music and has played the piano since her youth. When she isn’t working or volunteering, Katie enjoys hiking, reading, knitting and attending her children’s sporting events.
